The Opportunity
We are seeking an academic to join our School as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Analytical Geochemistry/Petrology. You will contribute to both research and teaching, helping advance the School’s academic and professional goals.
As a Lecturer you would develop a leading research program in Analytical Geochemistry/Petrology and contribute to the education program of the School in areas broadly related to your expertise.
As a Senior Lecturer you would lead an outstanding research program in Analytical Geochemistry/Petrology and make a significant contribution to the education program of the School in areas broadly related to your expertise.
In both roles, you will be expected to demonstrate the capacity to secure external funding and to build and supervise a research team of students and staff.
Successful candidates will employ trace-element and isotope geochemistry to geological systems, particularly the solid earth. In support of this, the school hosts a suite of state of the art clean laboratories (ISO 4-6) and the “Monash Isotopia Facility” which includes : ThermoFisher Neptune plus MC-ICP-MS, Triton plus TIMS, Triple-quadrupole iCAP-TQ and a single-quadrupole iCAP-Q ICP-MS, ASI-RESOlution ArF 193 nm excimer and New Wave UP 213 nm Nd-YAG solid state laser ablation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
As the successful candidate you will have a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline of solid Earth geoscience.
