As the Research Strategy Projects Officer you’ll play a key role in initiatives and projects that deliver our Manchester 2035 strategy. Your excellent organisational skills will be crucial within a high-volume, deadline driven environment. With demonstrable proactivity and the initiative to raise and help resolve difficult problems, you will be a detail-orientated professional, capable of managing multiple tasks independently while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

In addition to supporting distinct projects linked to the Manchester 2035 strategy, the role has the following key elements:

  • Lead, develop and deliver comprehensive briefings, reports and presentations for senior research leadership, including evidence collection and drafting.
  • Initiate, manage and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project delivery, ensuring the highest quality and influential interactions.
  • Participate in and support a range of team-wide deliverables and responsibilities involving administering strategic research funds and providing high-level support to governance groups and committees.

You should provide evidence in your application that you meet the essential knowledge, skills and experience stated in the job description. A CV is not always sufficient to show this, and we suggest that you use the personal statement section of the job application to give us a brief explanation and examples of how you feel you meet the criteria.

You will be part of the Directorate of Research and Business Engagement which supports the ongoing development of strategy and policy for the University’s research and business engagement activities.

Interview date will be Wednesday 19 November
