The University of Surrey is a global community of ideas and people, dedicated to life-changing education and research.
We are ambitious and have a bold vision of what we want to achieve - shaping ourselves into one of the best universities in the world, which we are achieving through the talents and endeavour of every employee.
Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.
The role
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Personal Assistant to provide professional and efficient support to the Chief Student Officer and the wider CSO Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of the University’s student experience portfolio, helping to deliver outstanding outcomes for our students and colleagues.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of the Chief Student Officer’s office — managing diaries, coordinating meetings, handling communications, and supporting key projects and events. The role requires discretion, initiative, and strong organisational skills, as you’ll be liaising with senior colleagues across the University and external partners on a daily basis.
About you
You’ll bring proven experience in providing high-level administrative or PA support, ideally within a complex organisation. You’ll be confident managing multiple priorities, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally at all levels.
Strong digital literacy is essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Teams, along with the ability to draft correspondence, take accurate minutes, and manage competing demands calmly and effectively. Above all, you’ll be someone who thrives on collaboration, takes pride in delivering exceptional service, and enjoys supporting others to succeed.
How to apply
Please submit your CV and a covering letter with your application.
Interviews will be held on Thursday 27th November.
