We have a Student Records Officer vacancy within the de Havilland Hub’s Student Administration team. These roles are an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to gain administration experience, whilst working within a friendly and very supportive environment. Whilst we are primarily based on campus in Hatfield, most teams in Academic Registry operate hybrid working arrangements.
We are a committed equal opportunities employer, and we particularly encourage applications from men and BAME candidates as they are under-represented in this area.
Main duties and responsibilities
As a Student Records Officer you will be undertaking a range of activities in relation to the administration of student records. This is an integral role that encompasses managing the student record and accuracy of student data, supporting Boards of Examiners, and providing advice to students and academic staff.
You will acquire expertise in your areas of specialism and provide advice and support to colleagues, students and your managers, including the preparation of data and reports, data capture, data entry and the accurate management of records which are subject to audit.
You will work as part of a central team and will have a range of contacts from within and outside of the de Havilland Hub. In addition, there will be the opportunity to assist at key University events throughout the year.
Skills and experience required
Ideally, you will have appropriate proven administrative experience in a complex and dynamic organisation, however, it is essential to have good numeracy, literacy and IT skills, particularly using MS Office packages, databases and web-based communication platforms such as MS Teams.
You will have a methodical approach and be able to deal with conflicting priorities and work under pressure to tight deadlines. You will have the ability to deal with sensitive material with strict confidentiality. You will be able to work with others and contribute to using resources effectively. You will be able to demonstrate initiative and to work with limited supervision, whilst having a can-do attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement. Attention to detail is a key requirement of the post.
Qualifications required
Educated with a minimum of A-levels or equivalent qualifications or proven experience.
Please view the job description and person specification for a full list of the duties and essential criteria. Please attach a personal statement showing clearly how your skills and experience match the Person Specification.
Internal applicants – please ensure you apply via your employee self-service portal.
We regret that we are unable to offer UKVI sponsorship for this post; applicants will either hold UK Right to Work or demonstrate access to UK Right to Work before an offer is made.
