Faculty of Health and Life Sciences

The above part time (0.3 FTE) post is available on a fixed term contract from Januray 2026 for 1 year, on the Forensic Psychology Programme in Clinical Education Development and Research (CEDAR) in Psychology (subject to final approvals).

The role

You will have responsibility for the design, development and production of teaching and learning material in relation to the clinical aspect of the programme and deliver either across a range of modules or within a subject area. You will work with Clinical Director and Programme Leads to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching programmes in accord with the Faculty’s education strategy and implementing the External Affairs strategy. You will also contribute directly to foundation teaching in one or more of the discipline areas in the Faculty and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the Faculty. 

Specific Purpose of the job: 

  • Contribute to the clinical aspects of postgraduate teaching as agreed with the Senior Clinical Tutor / Clinical Lead. The post-holder will have the opportunity to develop specialist teaching in his/her area of clinical / teaching expertise. Given CEDAR’s structure, an interest in contributing to teaching outside the programme would also be an advantage
  • Possess a good honours degree in Psychology or a related discipline (at least a 2:1 or equivalent)
  • Delivering clinical aspects of the training programme including clinical skills tutorials 
  • Act as a point of liaison between the programme team and participating services and stakeholders 
  • Ensure effective links between local and regional in line CEDAR’S external affairs strategy  
  • Problem solving training and service-related implementation challenges at a local level 
  • Support with the operational development and sustainability of the programme, particularly in relation to clinical aspects 
  • Provide of clinical supervision if appropriate 
  • Provide clinical skills tutorials within the programme 
  • Provide individual tutorials to students
  • Advise and link with services in relation to clinical practice and fitness to practice where applicable 
  • Develop the clinical aspects of the training programme, strengthening the work of This could involve undertaking programmes from design to delivery, developing links with relevant workers in the same field, presentations at relevant conferences. 

About you

For a Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a doctorate level training or the necessary equivalent (Forensic Psychologist).
  • Good honours degree in psychology or a related discipline (at least a 2:1 or equivalent
  • Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
  • Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
  • Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching;
  • Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
