Main duties and responsibilities
You will provide high-quality academic input in relation to General Practice Nursing, ensuring that students acquire the knowledge and skills required qualify as Specialist Community Nurse (General Practice Nurse).
The role includes responding to policy developments and leading on all aspects of the delivery at a module level including responding to PSRB requirements, leading on the curricula, theoretical and practical teaching as well as assessment and feedback to students. You will also be expected to engage in scholarly activity to remain academically and professionally credible.
Skills and experience required
You will have experience in supporting student learning in either a practice or classroom setting and of facilitating student learning in a university setting.
You will have a theoretical knowledge of general practice nursing as well as an ability to deal with conflicting priorities. In addition to this you will be proficient in English Language, excellent verbal and written communication skills and have good interpersonal skills.
You will be expected to be flexible and adaptable to team and workload requirements and show a commitment to reflective and continual improvement.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with an undergraduate degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline. You will hold a postgraduate qualification, i.e. Masters and/or PhD (completed or close to completion, e.g. has submitted final thesis) in a relevant field or significant experience. You will have a current recordable qualification with the NMC. A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards this is essential.
