£31,387 to £46,485 per annum, depending on skills and experience (minimum £35608 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Research Associate to work within the Polymer Chemistry Team within the School of Chemistry. The candidate will work closely with companies and academics on an externally funded project focused on improving the circularity of packaging material through laboratory-based research processing of materials. The candidate should be able to demonstrate excellence in project management and collaboration with industry and expertise in polymer characterisation and specialised laboratory analytical techniques (for example, SEM, DMA, DSC, TGA, MALDI-MS, IR, and NMR including 2-D NMR).  Additionally, the candidate should be skilled in the application of supercritical carbon dioxide processing and reactions. 

There is one post available at Research Associate level (candidates will have or are about to obtain a PhD in Chemistry or related discipline.). Some experience of working on industry related projects will be an advantage. 

The post is offered on a full-time basis (36.25 hours). The post will be offered as a fixed-term contract until 23/11/2026.
