About us

The King’s Health Partners Clinical Trials Office (KHP-CTO) is a collaboration between King’s College London, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust & South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (the Partner Organisations). It is set up to provide a single interface for those wishing to conduct clinical trials within the Partner Organisations, and to ensure that there are common, efficient processes for the set up and administration of clinical trials.

The KHP-CTO is an agile, innovative, and results-driven department tasked with swiftly setting up the highest quality clinical trials. About the role

The Commercial Trials Junior Associate will deliver outstanding customer service to the investigators, companies, & contract research organisations that are seeking to conduct clinical trials within the Partner Organisations. Specifically, the post holder will lead contract & budget negotiations when a study contract needs amending, and they’ll be responsible for setting up a small portfolio of straightforward clinical trials.    

This is a full-time (35 hours per week) post, and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following skills & experience:

Essential criteria

  • Relevant experience of commercial clinical trials within the NHS and/or Industry
  • Strong communication skills, including possessing the confidence to proactively engage with stakeholders (making ad hoc calls), negotiate, and influence
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to build successful working relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to work to SOPs and local working processes
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of setting up commercial clinical trials
  • Knowledge and understanding of the required governance for clinical trials
  • Knowledge and understanding of the model commercial contract templates and NCVR
