The University of Greater Manchester’s Centre for Advanced Manufacturing (CfAM) is seeking an experienced Lecturer/Trainer to join our team within the School of Engineering. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of advanced and additive manufacturing education while collaborating with leading academics and industry professionals.
You will play a central role in developing and delivering engaging teaching and training for undergraduate students and industry professionals. This includes creating high-quality teaching materials, designing innovative CPD programmes, and ensuring that all learning content remains current and aligned with the latest technological and industrial developments.
In addition to teaching, you will contribute to research and knowledge exchange within advanced materials and manufacturing, supporting the Centre’s growth and maintaining our reputation for excellence. You will also assist in the delivery of outreach and industry engagement events and work closely with colleagues to ensure the curriculum continues to meet IMechE and IfATE standards.
We are seeking someone with a strong background in advanced manufacturing or advanced materials who can bring real-world expertise into the classroom. You should hold a good honours degree in a relevant discipline and possess either a higher degree or substantial professional experience in the field.
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire students and professionals alike. Experience in teaching or training, curriculum design, and collaboration with industry partners would be highly advantageous. If you are not yet a member of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), you should be willing to work towards fellowship status.
