The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Dr. Harry Green. This Prostate Cancer UK funded post is available from January 2026 to 31 October 2027. The successful applicant will work on improving inherited prostate cancer risk estimates for Black men. Specifically, the project has two main aims: generating real world evidence to optimise and evaluate current gene testing panels for Black men, and to guide future policy around the implementation of genetic risk scores.

About you
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will be able to independently perform complex genetic analysis with whole genome sequencing data, including evaluation of genetic risk scores, statistical modelling, genome-wide association studies and genome-wide meta analyses. Existing experience in working with large genetic datasets, specifically in cancer genomics, is preferred.
