The University of Edinburgh is seeking to appoint an individual to work within the Informatics Teaching Organisation as a Teaching Organisation Administrator, providing excellent administrative support to academic staff delivering the portfolio of courses within the School of Informatics and to all students on taught Informatics programmes and courses.

The Opportunity:

This post focuses primarily on course and programme administration of undergraduate programmes, supporting students working towards honours degree.

Today the School of Informatics continues to be a global leader, as the biggest research and teaching establishment of its kind in the UK, and widely regarded as one of the foremost centres of Informatics expertise in the world.

This role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to join a dynamic team working to support over 1600 students studying towards an Informatics degree and academic staff developing world leading teaching in an environment where innovation is a necessity.

As an active member of the Teaching Organisation team, the candidate will have significant input into the processes and practice relating to the support of a large and diverse student cohort using University record systems and learning technology, while working closely with academic, computing and student support colleagues.

This is a full time (35 hours per week) fixed term post for 12 months and available at UE05 grade (£29,588 - £33,951 pa)

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Vocational qualifications (N/SVQ 3, ONC or equivalent) plus experience in a relevant role
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, email, web content editing)
  • Experience of committee servicing/minute taking
  • Evidence of numeracy skills
  • Flexible, organised and self-motivated
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
