The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) traces its heritage back to the first university in Wales, receiving its Royal Charter in 1828 and is honoured to have His Majesty King Charles III as Royal Patron.

- THE ROLE –

The Head of Student Employability will play a crucial role in supporting the enhancement of students’ employability skills and experience and in the employment prospects of our graduates.

This senior leadership position within the Student Services department requires a strategic individual who is passionate about providing and delivering a framework for students to grow and develop skills, knowledge and experience in order to attain and succeed in their chosen careers.

The post holder will oversee the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive employability programmes and initiatives designed to deliver practical student-centered outcomes.

Reporting to the Executive Head of Student Services, the post holder will oversee and then implement a strategic review of the current careers and employability provisions, shaping a new approach to student employability designed around the University’s academic portfolio, and connecting students with relevant employers, employment and skills development opportunities.

The Head of Employability is responsible for ensuring that all students have access to relevant high-quality opportunities to grow and develop their employability skills, which will include the central co-ordination of work placements across the University.

This role includes the analysis of key metrics to identify trends, inform strategic planning, and enhance provision and opportunities for students. The Head of Employability will ensure that employability initiatives are effectively aligned with the evolving needs of students and employers, the support our regional graduate labour markets.
