About the opportunity
The Professional Practice Office (PPO) sits within Student and Academic Services. We are responsible for the allocation of placements for students wishing to pursue a career in the Allied Health Professions, Nursing and Midwifery, Social Work and Teaching. This varied role is for 37 hours per week and crucial to student experience, which is key to the University’s 2030 strategy. We work with a large spectrum of placement providers and other stakeholders.
There are two full-time (37 hours per week) posts available, one permanent & one fixed term until the end of October 2026.
About you
You will be supporting Health placements and working closely with other team members linked to the Health programmes. You will have a part in maintaining excellent relationships with our current stakeholders. You will be required to attend a wide range of meetings and liaise with students, academic staff and placement providers by phone, email and presentations. As such you will need to be confident in your communication skills.
This role will also involve data spreadsheet work so you will need to have excellent IT skills and, in particular, experience of Excel to a high level. You will be required to work under pressure and so will need resilience to work in such an environment. This is a demanding role which needs to be done in a methodical and logical manner.
We are looking for someone to join the PPO who has excellent communication and IT skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of situations in a calm and professional manner. We are a very process driven team and you would be expected to contribute to improving work practices.
This post is based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles north east of Bristol City Centre.
