We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to our ongoing research into neural circuits mediating cognition in rat models of neurodevelopmental disorders. The successful candidate will work in the research group of Prof Emma Wood at the University of Edinburgh on a collaborative project funded by the Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative (SFARI).
The Opportunity:
The project will use high-density electrophysiological recording techniques to investigate the function of the head-direction system in one or more rat models of neurodevelopmental disorders, including the Fmr1-/y rat model of Fragile X Syndrome. The successful candidate will be involved in the design and execution of the in vivo neural recording experiments, and to the development and application of data analysis methods to analyse high density neuronal recording data both at single neuron and population levels.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week). The salary for this post is £41,064 to £48,822 per annum.
