10 fully funded 4-year PhD Studentships at the EPSRC and BBSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Engineering Solutions for Antimicrobial Resistance

UCL – London Centre for Nanotechnology

The Centre for Doctoral Training in Engineering Solutions for Antimicrobial Resistance is an EPSRC and BBSRC funded programme at University College London offering fully funded 4-year PhD studentships.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a complex problem that must be tackled on multiple fronts. The solution requires people who can lead and coordinate activities across government and industry, and across research disciplines ranging from microbiology and antimicrobial chemistry to building engineering. We train the next generation of industry, public-sector, and academic leaders to engineer and coordinate solutions for the challenge of AMR.

We offer a bespoke cohort training programme including the “ABC of AMR”, research translation, entrepreneurship, science communication, research integrity, and more for all our students. Find out more about our study programme on our website. We will support 40-50 students, over four cohorts.

We provide research opportunities across three Research Themes: infection prevention, diagnostics and surveillance of AMR, and novel therapeutic approaches. We have external partners ranging from innovative SMEs to government agencies and global industry leaders.

We are offering ten 4-year PhD studentships for each of our cohorts. We offer a variety of research projects which fall under our three Research Themes. Have a look at our available projects, as well as projects currently in progress by clicking on the Research Themes below:
