About the role
The post-holder will undertake teaching, supervision and associated administrative duties in SELCS-CMII. This involves teaching and convening modules, contributing to other teaching and to supervision of dissertations, and acting as Programme Director for the MA Philosophy, Politics and Economics of Health.
The post-holder will also be expected to contribute to teaching in cognate disciplines according to their own expertise, such as Gender and Sexuality Studies or Comparative Literature.
They will teach a pro rata load in accordance with departmental and institutional policy; depending on other responsibilities, this is likely to entail 250-300 contact hours per academic year, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, to be determined in consultation with the Director of Health Humanities and the Head of Department.
All teaching takes place in person on our Bloomsbury campus.
As well as delivering seminars and lectures, the successful candidate will be expected to set and mark essay topics for their own modules, to tutor MA students and supervise MA dissertations (in the period April-September 2026), and to play a part in the normal duties of teaching and administration within CMII.

About you
We are interested in application from candidate with a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Bioethics, Public Health Ethics, Philosophy, or Medical Humanities.
Applicant should show evidence of a teaching and/or scholarly specialism in health ethics and medical humanities.
They will be able to teach courses at postgraduate taught level and have proven ability to manage time and work to deadlines.
