Founded in 1902, UCL Institute of Education has been shaping policy and helping government, organisations and individuals navigate a changing society for the last 120 years. The Social Research Institute – formerly the Department of Social Science – is one of the leading centres for social research in the UK.
We are looking for a Research Fellow who will work under the supervision of the PI Professor Katherine Twamley (TCRU, UCL) and Co-I Dr Michelle Sleed (Anna Freud Centre). You will be based in the Thomas Coram Research Unit in the Social Research Institute at UCL, working on the project ‘Generation New Era: Stories’.
We are looking for someone enthusiastic about the aims of our project to work on a new and ambitious qualitative longitudinal study.
Generation New Era: Stories (GNE: Stories) is a qualitative longitudinal study embedded within the Generation New Era (GNE) cohort study. The aim of the project is to create a rich qualitative data set from a diverse sample of parents and carers that can be combined with quantitative data, providing a comprehensive overview of children’s early lives in the UK. This is a unique opportunity for capturing the complex factors that shape early child wellbeing and development today.

It is important that the criteria are clearly numbered and that you provide a response to each one.
You will have experience of team- and multidisciplinary-working and excellent research skills, covering all aspects of the research process including: navigating ethical approval; knowledge of research methodology as well as longitudinal research methods; (intersectional) sampling; data management; analytical techniques; knowledge exchange etc.
