Do you have an interest in good research practice? Do you want to work with academics undertaking exciting and groundbreaking research that makes a real-world impact? Then this is the perfect job opportunity for you! We are actively seeking a well-organised, detail-oriented, and proactive person with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to join our dynamic and busy Research Ethics and Governance team, collaborating effectively with diverse teams across all departments of Manchester Metropolitan University. You will work closely and collaboratively with colleagues from various disciplines to deliver an outstanding, efficient, and responsive research ethics and governance service that thoroughly aligns with our institutional values and the fundamental commitments outlined in the Concordat for Research Integrity.
You will serve as the essential first point of contact for all ethics- and governance-related queries and will work comprehensively across a large and diverse portfolio of innovative research projects with a particular emphasis on research governance, NHS sponsorship procedures, regulatory compliance, and developing clear operational guidance for researchers. In this critical role, you will implement and maintain robust systems and processes that meticulously comply with the University's established procedures for research ethics and governance, whilst actively supporting the continuous development, enhancement, and implementation of necessary improvements to ensure that exemplary governance principles become thoroughly embedded into all research activities across the institution. Additionally, you will be responsible for generating accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date reports and management information to effectively underpin the strategic coordination and efficient administration of research audit and review processes, thereby ensuring our contractual and ethical obligations to funding bodies, regulatory authorities, and other external stakeholders are consistently met and exceeded.
