The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate or Postdoctoral Research Fellow to participate in Ocean ICU. This EU-funded post is immediately available until 31/07/2027. The successful applicant will investigate if/how environmental change between 1995 and 2023 has influenced zooplankton community composition, abundance, functional traits and size spectra throughout the Atlantic Ocean using data collected along Atlantic Meridional Transect cruises.
The postholder will identify zooplankton taxa and their functional traits from images generated via FlowCam Macro (size-based data already exist). The successful applicant also will assume responsibility for data analysis, interpretation and publication/dissemination. The associated work will involve close collaboration with other plankton ecologists and possibly also statisticians, requiring excellent interpersonal skills. You will be expected to publish the results in the peer-reviewed literature.
