Job description:
Are you passionate about making a tangible difference in students' lives and shaping inclusive educational practice? We are looking for a highly motivated Student Success and Inclusion Adviser to join our new team within Education Development Services at the University of Sheffield. This is a unique opportunity to directly impact the educational journey of all students, with a focus on those from underrepresented backgrounds, and contribute significantly to the university's Access and Participation Plan (APP) and wider inclusive education agenda.
In this exciting role, you will take the lead on specific initiatives, designing and delivering interventions that enhance student success. Crucially, you will also collaborate directly with academic staff to embed inclusive, student-centred curricula and teaching methods across the university. You will be responsible for creating, implementing, and evaluating targeted interventions, playing a key part in improving outcomes for our diverse student body.
We need a proactive, organised, and empathetic individual with a strong commitment to student success. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be essential. You will have experience in developing and delivering development programmes, a collaborative approach, and excellent communication skills. Your ability to influence academic practice and use data to evaluate impact will be essential in helping us achieve our institutional goals.
What We Offer
The University of Sheffield is a remarkable place to work. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and their diverse backgrounds, abilities, and beliefs make Sheffield a world-class university.
We offer a fantastic range of benefits, including a highly competitive annual leave entitlement (with the ability to purchase more), a generous pension scheme, flexible working opportunities, a commitment to your development and well-being, a wide range of retail discounts, and much more. This role operates on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of 60% on-campus presence in Sheffield required.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to the greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching, and student experience.
