The Oxford Internet Institute (OII) is a multidisciplinary research and teaching department of the University of Oxford, dedicated to understanding the relationship between emerging technologies and society. For over two decades, OII has led the field in exploring how innovations such as generative AI, machine learning, algorithmic platforms, and autonomous systems are transforming economies, democracies and daily life.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive External Engagement and Executive Education Manager to work with the Head of Communications and External Affairs and Senior Executive Team to grow the Oxford Internet Institute’s engagement with governments, businesses, and civil society organisations. This includes developing our executive education portfolio, as well as developing strategic partnerships for research collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Building on OII’s track record of working with diverse organisations, the successful candidate will work as part of a small team to enhance OII’s visibility, diversify its income, and increase its impact. They will cultivate partnerships that generate value for the OII, its partners, and society more broadly. They will be self-motivated and collaborative, working with a wide range of colleagues and partners across and beyond the University.
This is a full-time, fixed-term role for one year with possibility of extension, starting January 2025. You will be based in the Oxford Internet Institute, Schwarzman Centre, OX2 6GG.

Key responsibilities
About you
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or above, have proven experience in external engagement or partnerships in higher education and strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience of working in or with academic institutions is desirable.
