We are searching for an outstanding researcher to join us in the Buckley Lab (@buckleylab.bskysocial) within the exciting Division of Molecular & Cellular Function at the University of Manchester (@mcf-uom.bsky.social). Start date is from 1st March 2026 and can be flexible. Funding is initially available for 1 year.
The successful candidate will contribute to cutting edge optogenetic, live imaging and quantitative analysis approaches to understand how mechanics and biochemical signalling work together to shape epithelial organs, with a particular focus on the primary cilium. They will also help with general running of the lab and training. Candidates should be passionate about research, with previous lab experience in developmental morphogenesis/ epithelial biology/ biophysics/ mechanobiology. Experience in quantitative image analysis/ modelling/ zebrafish/ cilium biology would be advantageous. The main requirement is a professional, organised, and collaborative work ethos, and a willingness to proactively develop creative approaches to challenging research problems.
