Exciting opportunities have arisen for 2 Lecturers to join Norwich Medical School to contribute to the delivery, development, and evaluation of medical student assessment within the School, ensuring alignment with GMC standards and best practice in medical education. The posts are available on either ATR or ATS conditions.

You will teach and support students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise research projects, and carry out formal administrative and advisory duties within the School.

Teaching is a key part of these roles, and as such you will be expected to plan, teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with an emphasis on the design and delivery of medical assessment.

This will include the design, implementation and evaluation of assessment strategies, providing training and support for colleagues and examiners. You will also plan and prepare assessment activities, develop assessment blueprints and psycho-metrically robust evaluation methods; undertake all assessment-related administrative duties; supervise undergraduate and post graduate research and contribute to the development of new and existing modules and programmes.

If appointed on ATR terms, your research activity will be expected to align with and contribute to one or more of the Faculty’s research departments — Metabolic Health, LifeSpan Health, Public Health and Medical Education. You will develop your research profile, seeking national and international recognition; produce high quality research appropriate for REF submission; develop proposals to secure external funding to support research either singly or conjointly; and disseminate results via academic publications.

For both ATR or ATS appointments, a first degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area with experience of high level undergraduate teaching and student assessment at all levels including coursework, examinations and undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations is essential.

Experience of course construction, planning research and (for an ATR appointment) a proven track record of high-level publications in peer-viewed journals is essential.

These full-time posts are available from 5 January 2026 on an indefinite basis.

Further information on our great benefits package, including 44 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays and additional University Customary days can be found on our benefits page.

Closing date: 5 January 2026
