About us
The MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences (LMS) is a biomedical research institute where scientists and clinicians collaborate to advance the understanding of biology and its application to medicine. We are proud to launch our new Team Science initiative, marking a bold step toward a more collaborative, challenge-driven model of research.
Team Science
Scientific breakthroughs rarely come from isolation—they emerge when brilliant minds connect. Our Team Science approach is more than just multi-disciplinary; it’s a fundamentally different way of working. We foster deep collaboration across fields, institutions, industry, and society to tackle questions that no one could answer alone. As a postdoc, you’ll be part of a dynamic environment that values your individual expertise while amplifying it through shared infrastructure, collective ambition, and interdisciplinary innovation.
About the role
Talented and self-motivated postdoctoral scientist with a keen interest and expertise in various -omics approaches (including spatial transcriptomics) and a passion for reproductive biology and development is needed to join the Reproductive Health and Fertility: Ageing, Sex and the Environment Team science initiative. The main focus will be to investigate the molecular causes of infertility and the effect of the environment on the development of the germline using both the in vivo (mouse tissues and human samples) as well as in vitro models (mouse and human pluripotent stem cells derived primordial germ cell-like cells (PGClCs).
About you
We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious postdoctoral researcher with an interest in germline development and reproductive biology. Solid background in molecular biology and various -omics approaches is required. Experience with single-cell analyses is beneficial but not absolutely required. Real team players are highly valued, eager to contribute to our collaborative effort focused on understanding fundamental biology underlying male and female gametogenesis, the impact of the environment and ageing.
