We are very pleased to advertise for a new external full-time Senior Lecturer post to support the strategic direction & delivery of research for the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Royal Holloway. The post holder will bring leadership and training experience and will act as Deputy Research Director for the course, managing projects and enhancing links across NHS, charity and third sector research collaborators and supporting the Research Director with strategic and staff support responsibilities. The Doctorate Course in Clinical Psychology, is a large, well-established course, with a national reputation for innovative practice and rigorous research. The post is fairly unique in offering candidates the opportunity to work across academic, research & clinical aspects of the Course. The appointee will have the opportunity to develop their research interests in applied areas of clinical psychology supervising Doctoral and Masters level research. We would particularly value candidates with an interest in teaching research methods (quantitative/qualitative) and knowledge and experience of NHS ethical application processes.
This is a really exciting time for clinical psychology, with substantial expansion of doctoral and masters level training at RHUL and nationally. The appointee will join a friendly team of over 20 academic staff who are committed to training future psychologists to meet the psychological needs of the diverse populations with whom we work across London. The course sits within a vibrant Psychology Department, which ranks as joint third for research in the UK. The post is designated as a senior lectureship within the professional practice pathway, which recognises and rewards the applied nature of the work of clinical psychology. Applicants should be HCPC Registered as a Clinical Psychologist, have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (recognised by the British Psychological Society) and bring significant NHS or University clinical psychology research experience, with demonstrable skills in supervision, training, leadership and management related to clinical psychology.
