Our technical staff provide a high level of expertise and technical knowledge, playing a key role in supporting students in their studies and project work.

About the Role:
This is an opportunity for an individual looking for a challenging and exciting role. We are seeking to appoint a Technical Officer with a Sport Science background specialising in Biomechanics and Clinical Gait Analysis to work in our Sport & Physiology Technical Team, supporting students and staff across the Faculty of Science & Engineering and Health & Education. Manchester Metropolitan University has invested in a state-of-the-art building, located at 99 Oxford Rd. This permanent role will support the development of the Manchester Metropolitan Institute of Sport , and provide support for the Movement Laboratory at Brooks.

About You:
You will have experience with operating in a busy laboratory environment, proficient with a range of techniques relating to Biomechanics, Sport Science and Gait Analysis, and an ability to work with sports performance / clinical populations. This will be a busy role, in a fast-paced environment, and the post holder will be expected to deliver high standards of demonstrations, customer service, be adaptable, quickly assimilate information, troubleshoot equipment, control stock, manage booking routines and establish networks with technical services colleagues, academic staff, and most important, support our students.
Support will be provided for the faculties wider operations as required. This could involve work in other laboratories and teaching spaces, including large-scale projects that have specific deadlines.
You will have a flexible approach to work and an ability to work on your own initiative in a collaborative environment. Strong communication skills, and a commitment to quality service will also play an important role in being successful in this post.
