This is a Part-Time (0.7 FTE), fixed term post (12 months) attached to a Dundee City Council funded project. You will provide specialised technical and research support for the Tooth4Life- Proof of Concept project. You will be responsible for the operational delivery of the project's experimental phase, including ethical compliance, sample acquisition, advanced laboratory procedures in stem cell biology, and the meticulous management of associated data. This role is critical to validating the real-world service model for dental stem cell preservation for personalised therapy and generating the high-quality data required for investor proposals.

This role is based on the city campus.

Your priorities will include:

  • Conduct advanced stem cell isolation and characterisation - Extract, culture, and analyse dental pulp stem cells using aseptic techniques, flow cytometry, and other analytical tools to ensure high-quality, reproducible data.
  • Manage biobanking and cryopreservation processes - Maintain cryogenic storage of biological samples, ensuring accurate inventory control and compliance with HTA and ethical regulations.
  • Ensure regulatory and ethical compliance - Prepare and maintain documentation for ethical approval, informed consent, and sample logistics in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Support research and commercialisation goals - Record, interpret, and communicate technical data to support both academic outputs and commercial translation within the Tooth4Life programme.
  • Coordinate sample logistics and stakeholder communication - Liaise with clinicians, couriers, and donors to ensure smooth sample collection, consent, and transport processes, providing clear guidance and m aintaining professional communication at all times.

Who we're looking for:

  • Someone with hands-on experience in human cell culture techniques
  • Extensive experience in mammalian cell culture and cryopreservation
  • An understanding of preparing and working under ethical guidelines and regulations
  • Excellent organisational and problem solving skills with strong communication
