What we’re looking for
As part of significant expansion across the University, the School of Computer Science and Mathematics is looking to grow our faculty expertise within the Faculty of Health, Innovation, Technology and Science. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer in the field of Computer Science and Computer Graphics. We welcome applicants who have a computer science background but with a strong specialism in the field of computer graphics and/or visualisation, particularly around virtual environments (real-time global illumination, image-based rendering, tracking, real-time systems and augmented reality), 3D computer graphics (rendering, animation, graphics hardware), and graphical design principles including colour theory, layout, and typography.
You will be required to contribute to the continuing enhancement of the courses within the Computer Science with Mathematics programmes, developing and delivering innovative and engaging curricula across undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the school, providing intellectually stimulating teaching while motivating and supporting students in their learning. You will conduct research in your area of expertise and undertake scholarly activities in computer science to ensure our curriculum is up-to-date in meeting the needs of our students and employers. In addition, you may contribute to the development and delivery of outreach and engagement initiatives as well as interdisciplinary project areas. You should have a background in one of the relevant areas listed with a PhD in a related subject and/or relevant professional experience from industry.
This is a key moment to join a welcoming, ambitious, and research-informed university community that places students at the heart of everything we do. We value and invest in our staff, offering meaningful opportunities for professional development, scholarship support, and clear internal promotion routes.
