This varied and interesting Student Funding Officer role offers the chance to work within Student Fees and Funding across both US and Canadian loans as well as supporting the selection processes for a number of graduate scholarships.

The Student Fees and Funding team is a friendly and supportive team with around 34 staff who manage central fee processes and a wide range of financial support and funding opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate applicants and students. This includes scholarships, bursaries and loan programmes, international schemes and central financial assistance, working closely with a range of stakeholders across the collegiate University to support students to pursue their studies.

About the Role 

The role offers the chance to work as part of a small team of five staff who manage the US and Canadian student loan and grant processes. Key tasks include providing information and advice, processing loan applications and disbursements of funds, and ensuring that the University’s loan processes comply with US Government regulations.

You will also be the Scholarship Manager for a number of graduate scholarships. This will include activities such as: arranging the recruitment and selection of scholars; preparing offer letters; maintaining databases; and arranging payments. 

The post is available on a 9-month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity within the team. 

About You 

  • Degree or equivalent work-based experience.
  • Strong admin skills: high accuracy, good organisation/time management, and ability to work independently.
  • Clear written/verbal communication, able to interpret and explain complex information.
  • Proven proactivity and problem-solving.
  • Excellent IT skills, including solid Word, Outlook, Excel use and ability to learn new systems.
  • Good numeracy and confidence analysing data in spreadsheets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, using tact and building effective relationships.
