About us
The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Reproductive Health Policy Research Unit (RHPRU) is a £5 million research investment over 5 years (until Dec-28) with the core purpose of producing high quality research evidence to inform policy regarding reproductive health in England. The RHPRU is led by UCL as a multi-partner collaboration involving the Universities of Oxford, Birmingham, Warwick, LSHTM and Hywel Dda University Health Board. It focuses on addressing health inequalities and working in a co-produced way with people the work impacts. The RHPRU is hosted at the UCL EGA Institute for Women’s Health, whose mission is to bring together clinicians and researchers from a diverse range of disciplines to deliver excellence and innovation to make a real and sustainable difference to women's and babies’ health locally, nationally and worldwide.
About the role
The post holder will assist the P RU Co-Directors, project leads, and theme leads in conducting policy-related research in reproductive health. They will lead responsive policy research requests under tight deadlines, delivering rapid, usable insights for government teams. They will work independently and as part of a team, with opportunities to develop and lead projects aligned with the research programme. Salary is Grade 7 (£45,103- £52,586) including London Weighing. This role is fixed-term with an initial end date 31 Dec 2026 in the first instance with an anticipated end of project of 31 Dec 2028. This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role. About you
Applicants to have a PhD (or equivalent) and experience in qualitative and quantitative research and evidence synthesis, ideally in reproductive or women’s health, or in a policy research environment. Committed to producing high-quality, research and thrive in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments. Write clear, impactful policy briefings and apply dynamic research methods, including systematic reviews and emerging approaches. You will liaise with NIHR/DHSC and university partners to coordinate policy research activities.
