The School of Physics at Trinity College Dublin invites applications for a position at the level of Assistant Professor in experimental physics. We seek motivated individuals with a strong potential to enhance experimental physics research and teaching at Trinity.
The primary purpose of the role is to contribute to physics teaching, research, and administrative activities in the school. The School of Physics carries out world leading experimental physics in areas including photonics, nanomaterials, nanoelectronics, nanomechanics and nanotechnology, electron microscopy, magnetism and spin electronics, and bio-physics/soft-matter.
The successful candidate will be an experimental physicist working in one of these broad areas. They will have an established research profile in their specialist area, including a strong publication record. They will initially be affiliated with an established research team to provide them with access to preexisting research space and infrastructure.
Over time, they will be expected to develop their own research team and to attract funding from national and international bodies to establish and sustain their independent research programme. The successful candidate will contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision, and mentoring.
Post Status Tenure Track - This position is Tenure Track position which is 5-years in the first instance, permanency is subject to satisfying the tenure requirements.
