The School of Engineering at the University of Aberdeen is a research-intensive, interdisciplinary school engaged in fundamental and applied research and offering Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PGT) degree programmes across five Engineering disciplines: Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, and Petroleum. The School’s research spans the main engineering disciplines across five Research Groups and a number of Research Centres (https://www.abdn.ac.uk/engineering/research/index.php).
The School invites applications for a Lecturer in Energy Transition – Electrical Power Systems, from individuals seeking to carry out interdisciplinary, cutting-edge research at an international level. Applicants should have outstanding communication skills and a passion for curriculum development and the delivery of engaging and innovative teaching. This post will support delivery of a new joint 3+1 programme with an overseas University. The Appointee will primarily be based in Aberdeen but will be expected to travel to China and/or other overseas locations to deliver their teaching obligations; visits are likely to be up to 4 weeks duration at any one time, typically twice per year. The post holder needs to have wide expertise and be flexible enough to also deliver taught courses within the Engineering interdisciplinary curriculum at levels 1 and 2 outside the EEE area.
We are particularly seeking individuals with a PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related disciplines with an excellent research track record in one or more of the following areas:
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 7, £47,389 - £56,535 per annum and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
