About us
The Vice-President External Engagement (VPEE) department plays a vital role in shaping how UCL is seen and understood by audiences in the UK and globally. Through strategic communication and engagement, VPEE increases UCL’s visibility, strengthens its reputation, and highlights the public value of its research, partnerships, and civic activity. The department brings together experts in media relations, public affairs, institutional communications, brand and integrated marketing, student recruitment, and events. Working collaboratively, these teams deliver high-impact activity that supports UCL’s strategic priorities and demonstrates our role as a global leader in higher education.
About the role
As CRM Marketing Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of customer journey communication plans through Microsoft Dynamics. Your work will ensure that individuals receive clear, consistent, and engaging communications at every stage of their journey with UCL. You will combine strong marketing expertise with CRM and data insight skills to drive improvements and help shape a seamless customer experience.
You will work confidently within a large and complex CRM environment, collaborating with colleagues across UCL to embed best practice throughout the full student lifecycle. Your contribution will support high-quality communications that strengthen engagement, enhance recruitment activity, and improve the student experience.
Key responsibilities include:
• Writing engaging content that aligns with UCL’s brand and supports audiences at key points of the applicant journey
• Monitoring and evaluating CRM performance, reporting on effectiveness, and identifying opportunities for platform and process enhancements
• Conducting segmentation and delivering targeted CRM marketing strategies
As a member of the wider VPEE community, you will also support key onsite engagement activities. This includes working at a minimum of four graduation ceremonies each year and participating in at least two of UCL’s three annual onsite Open Days.
We are recruiting two full-time fixed-term roles, both offered on a hybrid basis with up to two days per week onsite at our King’s Cross campus. Please indicate whether you wish to be considered for Post 1, Post 2, or both.
About you
You will be an experienced marketing professional with a strong background in delivering B2B and/or B2C CRM programmes. You will be confident in campaign planning, testing, and delivering full CRM activity, ideally using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or GeckoEngage. Experience working in an Agile environment on CRM implementation or marketing transformation projects is highly desirable.
You will also demonstrate:
• Experience designing and managing CRM campaigns for segmented audiences
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, working effectively with internal and external partners
• Experience in service monitoring, evaluation, and continuous development
Our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
As London’s Global University, we know diversity fosters creativity and innovation, and we want our community to represent the diversity of the world’s talent. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where we all belong.
We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in UCL’s workforce.
These include people from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds; disabled people; and for our Grade 9 and 10 roles, women.
