Role Summary
The Research Strategy & Services Division is a collaborative and inclusive team of research support professionals, providing the insight and expertise that underpin the University’s research ambitions. Within RSSD, the Research Performance & Systems Innovation team leads our integrated approach to research performance analysis, REF planning, research systems and data governance.
We are seeking an analytically minded Research Performance & Data Officer to strengthen our research intelligence and reporting capability. You will support statutory and internal research income reporting, contribute to REF 2029 data and analysis, prepare high-quality datasets and insight for senior leaders, and help colleagues across the University to use research information confidently and effectively. You will also lead defined projects and support improvements to data processes, documentation and quality assurance across the research lifecycle.
You will bring strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and confidence working with complex datasets. Experience with research-related data or systems is helpful but not essential — we are looking for someone with the capability and enthusiasm to develop expertise in a specialist, high-performing team.
RSSD is strongly committed to staff development and progression, offering structured training, mentoring, and opportunities to broaden your experience across the research lifecycle. This role provides a supportive environment, clear development pathways, and the chance to contribute directly to the University’s research success.
