Type of Contract: Funding-limited for one year in the first instance
The Aberdeen Centre for Evaluation (ACE)’s specific aims are to work for the implementation of better health and social care, identify developments within health and social care that are effective, efficient and high quality, and explore and understand experiences of health and social care.
This work is underpinned by the Centre undertaking work with patient and public partners, undertaking capacity building, education and training, using and developing interdisciplinary approaches and leading the way with the development and implementation of new and innovative methodological approaches.
We are looking for a statistician to join the statistical team within the Aberdeen Centre for Evaluation (ACE), formerly the Health Services Research Unit.
The team are involved in a wide range of statistical activities including the design, conduct and analysis of randomised trials, non-randomised studies, meta-analysis, and methodological research projects in these areas, with collaborators from other national and international centres. The post offers excellent opportunities for career development as a member of a research group with an established international reputation in evaluation and applied health research.
ACE undertakes a major programme of research spanning the evaluation of health and social care interventions. This includes randomised controlled trials coordinated by the Centre for Healthcare Randomised Trials (CHaRT), and evidence synthesis through the Aberdeen Belfast Evidence Collaboration (ABEC). The statistical team contributes across all ACE projects, providing expertise in study design, data management, analysis and interpretation.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 5 or 6 salary scale, £33,002-£36,636 or £38,784 -£46,049 per annum, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
