We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Programmes Officer (Quality Support) to join our Taught Programmes Team within the Faculty of Science.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled administrator who enjoys leading process improvements, supporting academic quality, and working collaboratively across teams to deliver a high standard of service.

Working closely with the Programmes Manager (Operations), you will play a key role in ensuring the effective operation and continuous enhancement of the Faculty’s taught programmes. You will take responsibility for operational support, quality assurance and governance, and lead on initiatives to improve processes and systems across the team.

You will also:

  • Provide leadership on cross-Faculty initiatives to ensure consistent standards and effective coordination.
  • Support and advise colleagues on key governance processes including Academic Appeals, Individual Mitigating Circumstances, and Programme Handbooks.
  • Liaise with the Academic Registry and other University departments to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Identify and resolve complex operational or programme-related issues.
  • Lead projects that enhance efficiency and effectiveness, including training colleagues in the use of digital tools such as Power Automate.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of assessment and examination processes and act as a key contact for programme support and troubleshooting.

About you

  • You will be a proactive and organised professional with excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to service quality. You will enjoy working in a busy, collaborative environment and will demonstrate confidence in leading initiatives and supporting colleagues.
  • Experience of programme or student administration, ideally within higher education.
  • Knowledge of University regulations, policies and procedures, or the ability to develop this quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.
  • Confidence using and a willingness to train others in digital systems and process improvement tools.
