The Oxford Centre for Emerging Minds Research (OCEMR) is a newly funded research centre to conduct world class research that contributes to a world where differences between children and young people are understood and accepted, strengths are capitalised on, and mental health difficulties are prevented or addressed early in life. The centre incorporates more than 10 research groups and over 100 research staff and students.
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly organised and numerate Finance and Grants Assistant to join the Oxford Centre for Emerging Minds Research team within the Departments of Experimental Psychology and Psychiatry at the University of Oxford. This is a new role and the postholder will support finance and research grants functions primarily for the new Oxford Centre for Emerging Minds Research and for the wider department when required.
The position is part-time (0.8fte) and fixed term until September 2030.
The successful candidate will be educated to at least GCSE or equivalent, with a financial qualification or experience in a finance administrator or similar role. They will also have experience of working with grants and general ledger. Excellent communication and IT skills, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential requirements as well as a tactful and confidential approach. Experience of R12 Oracle Financials, X5 system, knowledge of university financial procedures and experience of working in an academic or research environment would be an advantage although training will be given.
