About the role:
The Chain Florey Advanced Postdoctoral Fellowship supports clinician scientists in discovery science or experimental medicine to develop the skills needed for a successful intermediate fellowship. It bridges the gap between post-doctoral or clinical lecturer roles and independent research positions. We seek bold, ambitious proposals that would benefit from the expertise and world-class facilities at the LMS.
What you would be doing:
Fellows receive protected time (80% research; 20% clinical for maintenance of competency) for up to 24 months to generate preliminary data and prepare competitive applications to national governmental and/or charitable funders. A full mentorship programme will support the Fellow throughout. This opportunity is aimed at candidates who meet the essential criteria and show strong potential to become future leaders in clinical translational medicine.
What we are looking for:
Applicants must hold a PhD and either have a CCT (or equivalent) or be due to obtain CCT within 12 months of applying. Fellowships last up to 2 years of full-time research, with the option to maintain 1 day per week of clinical work, supported by an Honorary Consultant contract with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust or another NHS Trust.
