Oxford has over 13,000 graduate students, representing more than 50% of the full-time student population. The provision of scholarships for postgraduate students is an area of crucial importance for the University. The Student Fees and Funding (SFF) office assists in this by managing scholarship programmes and supporting other funding providers (such as colleges, academic departments, and external partners). SFF currently manages over 200 University scholarship programmes for 1,600 students, worth over £60m per year. 

This is an important role where you will help achieve the ambition of ensuring that academically outstanding students can take up their places to study at Oxford regardless of their financial means or background.

About the Role 

The Student Funding Manager (Academic Futures) supports the University’s flagship Graduate Access Scholarship, helping develop the programme and scholar cohort, and coordinating partner communications and annual selection processes.

You will manage support and community-building for all Academic Futures streams, delivering events, communications, and on-course provision for scholars.

You will also streamline how the team works with partners, improving communication and administration, producing clear documentation, and ensuring smooth selection and reporting processes.

This is a key strategic area for the University, offering scope to shape new initiatives and enhance existing work.

About You 

This role suits candidates committed to access and widening participation, with strong organisational skills and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

You should be an excellent communicator with experience managing complex, cross-team projects, bringing a collaborative, innovative, and proactive approach.

Strong numeracy and the ability to present complex information clearly are essential.

We welcome applicants with transferable skills from areas such as outreach, project management, or marketing, even without direct fees and funding experience.
