About the Role
The postholder will provide essential administrative support to the Professor of Genomic Diversity and the wider team, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations and enabling the successful delivery of research projects.
About You
We are seeking an organised, detail-oriented administrator with experience supporting day-to-day operations in a Higher Education environment. You will be confident using Microsoft Office, coordinating meetings and events, handling HR tasks such as interview scheduling and onboarding, and managing financial processes including purchasing and expenses. Strong communication, time-management and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders in line with Queen Mary’s values.
About the Institute
The Precision Healthcare University Research Institute (PHURI) aims to improve health through data-driven medicine. PHURI’s multidisciplinary teams will address interconnected research themes including Omics Science; MedTech and Devices and Therapeutic Innovation - transcending the existing boundaries between disciplines.
These themes will come together to create a complete journey from disease identification, through to translation with the development of therapies, devices or clinical intervention to ensure we improve disease prevention, prediction, personalisation of treatment and disease management to improve patient outcomes. This integrated approach is a distinguishing feature of PHURI in which we use our linked health and molecular patient data to develop innovative technologies that will transform existing care pathways.
PHURI builds on the close partnerships between Queen Mary University of London and Barts NHS Trust, continuing our shared focus on accelerating the latest healthcare innovations from the bench to bedside. Working closely with Barts Health NHS Trust we will ensure that our research is focused on where it is most needed. Using real-world clinical data, we will drive the development and targeted prescription of treatments based on patients’ needs. This will help to build a stronger and more focused health service for the diverse communities of East London, the UK and the world.
