Working closely with the Associate Director, you will help shape and implement the Centre’s external engagement agenda—creating high-quality opportunities to connect with our extensive network of academics, practitioners, alumni, and donors. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the Centre’s visibility and impact through exceptional event experiences.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, organise, and manage a variety of events, including academic conferences, seminars, donor stewardship events, alumni engagement activities, and ceremonial occasions.
- Coordinate all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, catering, transportation, and accommodations.
- Liaise with speakers, participants, donors, and other external stakeholders to ensure smooth event execution.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including faculty, researchers, and administrative staff, to ensure event objectives are met.
- Work closely with the Associate Director to develop an external engagement strategy for the Centre, identifying new ways to engage with the Centre’s extensive network of academics, practitioners, alumni, and donors. This role provides an exciting opportunity for the postholder to go beyond successfully organising and delivering events, as they will shape the Centre’s external engagement strategy as we seek to increase our impact and outreach globally.
- Oversee event promotion and communications, ensuring effective outreach and engagement
- Write event plans, programmes and briefs which will be shared with clients.
- Develop and manage event budgets (circa £200,000 per annum), ensuring cost-effective planning and execution.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
- Utilise feedback and input from alumni and other stakeholders to inform and improve engagement strategies and event offerings.
We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in delivering outstanding events, alongside exceptional organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. You will be detail-oriented, proactive, and creatively minded, bringing fresh ideas and an innovative approach to audience engagement and event design.
