Research Fellow - AR3223

Start Date: 1 February 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter Fixed Term for 12 Months

Applications are sought for two committed Post-doctoral Research Fellows to work with Prof. Andrea Di Falco conducting research for an ERC – Proof of Concept project entitled Augmented PhOtovoltaic ceLLs-based Optical Neural networks for environmental monitoring (APOLLON). The primary duties will be to develop an experimental implementation of optical neural networks based on commercial and custom photovoltaic panels, for environmental monitoring.

The successful applicant will have (or be near to completion of) a PhD in Physics, Computer Science or equivalent degrees and have demonstrated expertise in machine learning and/or experimental implementations of optical neural networks.

The post is available for 12 months starting Feb 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
