Applications are invited for the post of Head of the Undergraduate Medical Education Section within the Education Division of the Office of the School of Clinical Medicine. The post holder will be based at the Clinical School, on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the School's Undergraduate Education administration, with responsibility for the organization and delivery of the clinical components of the University's three medical course, a six-year Standard Clinical Course (admitting approximately 270 students per year, with the clinical component mainly comprising Years 3-6), a nine-year MB/PhD Programme (admitting approximately 5 10 students a year, in which students intercalate a PhD between Years 4 and 5 of the medical course) and a four-year Cambridge Graduate Course (admitting approximately 40 graduate students a year). The post holder will also be responsible for maintaining excellent relationships and communication with administrative and teaching staff both on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, and across the numerous Trusts and GP practices across the region which are involved in teaching Cambridge medical students. 

The successful candidate will have a degree and will be an experienced administrator, preferably in a Higher Education context, and preferably in the area of medical education. They will have excellent management and team leadership skills, as well as change and project management skills. They will have very strong communication skills (both written and verbal), an ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and to form strong professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, at all levels of seniority. Ideally, they will also have an understanding of assessment procedures. They will also be able to work independently and flexibly, and will have the ability to rapidly assimilate new information and knowledge and to meet challenging deadlines.
