Role Summary
The University of Birmingham, Department of Dentistry is looking to appoint a part-time Clinical Dental Tutor to teach clinical dental students in aspects of Adult Restorative and Primary Care Dentistry in Clinical Practice, or specific Specialty Teaching areas including Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics in simulation environments and occasionally in other areas as required.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake clinical teaching and associated administrative duties as directed by the Head of Dentistry, Programme Director and the relevant academic leads. The demonstration of initiative in contributing actively to the continued development and improvement of the teaching programme is welcomed and expected.
Person Specification
The candidate will have full registration with the UK General Dental Council (GDC), be a good team worker, meet the requirements for Occupational Health clearance and DBS screening and preferably have been involved in Dental Foundation Training (previously Vocational Training) and have some experience of teaching.
The candidate will have excellent communication skills, be capable of adapting to diverse environments including the clinic, classroom, lecture theatre, one-to-one situations and will be able to communicate with colleagues and students at all levels in a clear, effective and timely manner.
