THE ROLE
Based in Carmarthen or Swansea with the ability to travel between sites as needed, the Personal Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor (VC) is a key member of the Vice-Chancellor’s office, providing high-level professional administrative support to the VC and members of the Senior Leadership Team, and contributing to the University’s overall strategic leadership and operational success.
The postholder will be responsible for undertaking a broad range of duties, which will include effectively managing diary commitments, engagements, papers, communication, and travel arrangements for the VC. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced administrative and IT skills. They will be expected to work flexibly and to prioritise conflicting demands to help senior leaders meet a variety of commitments and deadlines.
Working collaboratively and effectively as part of a team, the role holder will ensure the smooth running of the office, working proactively and independently within designated areas of responsibility, and with a strong emphasis on customer service.
Successful, proactive engagement with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, will be key. The role requires a high standard of spoken and written communication skills in both Welsh and English, and the ability to tailor their communication style for different purposes.
