The Department
The Human Resources department consists of the following areas of expertise – HR Systems and Data, Learning and Organisational Development, HR Partnering and HR Operations. The team are responsible for the full remit of the process’s employees undergo throughout their lifecycle at the University and for supporting managers to ensure employees have a positive working experience from recruitment through to offboarding.
The Role
Reporting into the Deputy Director of HR with a professional reporting line to, and supporting the Head of Health and Safety. To develop, implement, and improve the University’s H&S strategy, policies and procedures related to the health, safety and wellbeing of the workplace and employees. The postholder will ensure a proactive, inclusive, and legally compliant approach to key aspects of staff related health and safety, while fostering a culture of wellbeing across the UWL community. The postholder will assist with the University’s approach to areas such as Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments, Occupational Health provision, travel and stress risk assessments, and infectious disease surveillance and will collaborate with HR colleagues on wellbeing provision, initiatives, campaigns and training programmes.
The Person
You will need to have a proactive, inclusive, and legally compliant approach to key aspects of staff-related health and safety, while fostering a culture of health, safety and wellbeing across the staff community. You will have experience of producing reports, spreadsheets and other protocols and analysis of data to produce these documents and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
