The School of Health and Life Sciences is now seeking to appoint to the post of Lecturer Teaching Scholarship and Professional Practice (TSPP) in Occupational Therapy to contribute to teaching, research, knowledge exchange, enterprise and knowledge exchange in the Department of Allied Health Professions in the School of Health & Life Sciences.
The standard TSPP academic role at the University includes a combination of teaching, scholarly activity, professional practice, knowledge exchange, business engagement and associated administrative activities. You will be involved in uni professional (Occupational Therapy) and multi professional (AHP) activity across the department. While all functions will combine these areas of work, the relative weight of each will vary between and over time for each role holder.
The postholder must have a degree relevant to teaching Occupational Therapy. It is desirable that they hold an Occupational Therapy qualification, are on the HCPC register and have experience of teaching and assessing skills in practice using accessible and engaging approaches. You must hold both a first degree and Masters in relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualification or significant practical work experience in a related discipline. You will utilise your knowledge to contribute to teaching, knowledge exchange, enterprise, and business engagement. The post holder will contribute work to embed inclusive accessible and equitable healthcare practice across the curriculum.
Applicants must hold or willing to achieve a relevant Teaching Qualification normally within two years of employment i.e PGCHE/Higher Education Academy (Associate Fellow/Senior Fellow) accreditation. Membership of a relevant professional body / Registered professional in the discipline / equivalent level of professional practice is desirable.
