The Department of Oncology has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and can-do multi-skilled Facilities Assistant. This team member will join our dedicated, passionate, friendly, and high performing team within the University of Cambridge.
Working as part of the Department's Facilities team, you will deliver exceptional forward thinking customer service in overseeing the smooth running of all the facilities operations within the Department. You will work a rota system of 2 weeks within Goods-In, and 2 weeks as a buildings support service provider across the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC).
Use and knowledge of IT is essential, as is an understanding of Health and Safety. The ideal applicant will have excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude. Training will be provided; however, applicants should be aware parts of the job can be physically demanding for short periods of time.
The post is available now, and the job will be based in the newly redeveloped Early Cancer Institute building - which we expect to occupy from June 2026. It is an exciting time to join the Department and the postholder will play a key role in assisting with the move back to the building from our current temporary accommodation.
The Department of Oncology is home to around 260 staff and students representing a range of disciplines and categories, with the majority based on the CBC, either in the Early Cancer Institute or office space in Addenbrooke's Hospital.
