The Role
The Placement Delivery Officer role forms part of the placement leadership team initially overseeing the delivery of placement activities within the Health and Social Care Placements Team and supporting wider placement activity across the University.
You will work closely with Academic leadership within the School of Health and Social Care to lead a team on sourcing high-quality placement opportunities for all phases of our health provision across the region. You’ll also support compliance activity for student onboarding, as well as placement providers, to ensure quality of learning and safety of our students.
The Team
The Health and Social Care Placements Team supports the delivery of over 23,000 placements each year across the NHS and the Private, Independent and Voluntary Sectors.
It consists of Placement Delivery Officers and Placement coordinators that work with hundreds of health and social care placement providers across the South Yorkshire region and beyond, to train the next generation of qualified clinicians across our professionally accredited courses.
We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.
You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.
Each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/49th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 22% of your salary). For a starting salary of £30,000, for example, the University would pay just over £6,500 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of £612 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).
If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the LGPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
