The Department of Oncology has an exciting opportunity for a multi-skilled Senior Facilities Assistant. This team member will have an enthusiastic, can-do and forward-looking approach to work. They will join our dedicated, passionate, friendly, and high performing team the University of Cambridge.
Based at Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC) the individual will work as part of the Department's Facilities team, delivering exceptional operational customer service support in overseeing the smooth running of all the facilities within the Department. The Senior Facilities Assistant will work a rota system of 2 weeks within Goods-In, and 2 weeks as a buildings support service provider across the CBC site.
Use and knowledge of IT is essential, as is an understanding of Health and Safety. The ideal applicant will have excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude. Training will be provided; however, applicants should be aware parts of the job can be physically demanding for short periods of time.
The post is available now, and the job will be based in the newly redeveloped Early Cancer Institute building - which we expect to occupy from June 2026. It is an exciting time to join the Department and the postholder will play a key role in assisting with the move back to the building from our current temporary accommodation.
The Department of Oncology is home to around 260 staff and students representing a range of disciplines and categories, with the majority based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, either in the Early Cancer Institute or office space in Addenbrooke's Hospital.
